2020 Teen Camp: CANCELLED due to COVID-19
It is with great sadness that we inform you that the Church of Christ Teen Camp will not be held this year. Many factors have led us to make this decision and it was made with great reluctance. As the current quarantine has continued, we have been in contact with the Camp Far Westa administration, sought the advice and counsel of Church leaders and even considered modifying how we run camp in order to be able to provide this important Church function. While we would like to say that the reopening of parts of the US would make Camp possible, the foreseeable regulations in trying to prevent the spread of COVID-19, (i.e. screening campers for symptoms, social distancing requirements, isolation of individuals who may become ill, and the disinfecting standards that would be mandated) are not possible to follow within the scope of Teen Camp. Due to the nationwide outreach of our camp, the concern of bringing campers from higher and lower COVID-19 communities to interact closely for a week is more than we would like to risk.
While there will be no Teen Camp this year, we still want to encourage you to connect in other ways. We encourage getting together as youth for spiritual and social benefits where local or regional guidelines allow. Also, please take advantage of various online formats to keep in touch throughout the year.
Looking forward, we would like to inform you that we have already made arrangements for the 2021 Teen Camp. The dates for the 2021 Teen Camp are July 18-23, 2021. The campers who would have been seniors this year are welcome to attend the 2021 Teen Camp, regardless of age.
We look forward to seeing you again whenever and wherever the Lord wills. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
Your Brother in Christ,
Bob Hedrick - Director, Church of Christ Teen Camp
NEXT YEAR: 2021 TEEN CAMP - BE THERE!
The dates for the 2021 Teen Camp are July 18 - July 23, 2021. The campers who would have been seniors in 2020 are welcome to attend the 2021 Teen Camp, regardless of age.
Campers are assigned a cabin with age-appropriate peers and supervising counselor(s). There will be at least one adult for every eight campers. There will be members of the Church of Christ Priesthood in attendance at all times. We will provide a certified lifeguard.
A Camp T-Shirt is included in the registration fee for each camper. There is also a snack-bar open at various times during the week so campers may bring their own money to purchase snacks and drinks. See registration form for details.
So, what are you waiting for? To register we will need your payment, class schedule form, a signed registration form including parent/camper pledge, photo release and notarized medical release/information. Registration forms can be downloaded by clicking above!
